Dolly Parton has long been one of the most successful women in America. Her music, acting and patriotism has helped her to establish one of the most credible reputations in the country. She’s a big supporter of women’s rights and there have been plenty of articles on the internet saying she’s supporting Hillary.
In a recent interview with CNN’s Brooke Baldwin, regarding the Presidential race, she said: “We’re doing good. We got a woman that could go in the White House, so we’ve certainly come a long way.”
Dolly felt the country was advancing. She was inspired by Hillary at first and the way she carried herself in politics. Having a woman nominee for president shows how far we’ve come since Dolly’s youth.
This led to a slew of stories that Dolly is a Hillary supporter.
But then Dolly told us how she really felt- in that way that only Dolly Parton can…
THEY’RE BOTH NUTS…
Regarding Both Hillary and Donald Trump, she said:
“I don’t know where they’re going to land but I think they’re both nuts.”
This quote has led to dozens of articles on the internet claiming that she took a side in the Presidential race.
“Dolly Say’s Hillary Is NUTS!” read the headlines. Or “Dolly for Trump” read another blog article.
These days on the internet, quotes can be spun and re-spun to pretty much say whatever the writer wants them to say. Like a bad lip reading video. (If you don’t know what that is, google it- you’ll love it!)

In the full quote, Dolly continued by calling the Presidential race “the greatest show on television right now.”
Depending on which side of the isle you find yourself, this may not sit well with you. Or you might completely agree with Dolly.
But then she proceeded to share wisdom, which is what has endeared millions to her across multiple decades.
“Let’s talk about what we really need- taking care of us.” Dolly said. “I think people just want to have a feeling of security. It’s just like political terrorism right now, they got us all scared to death about everything. We’ve got room for improvement.”
Leave it to Dolly to make us want to be a little kinder to each other, even in the midst of a bitter political fight.
