As such, many fans and critics overlooked the years that Dylan had worked with a choir group and sang about the Lord. “I told you the Times they were a ‘changing and they did,” said Dylan, before he also spoke about God’s return.

Someone once yelled out “Rock and roll,” where Bob Dylan responded that fans should go see KISS for rock music. The most unusual thing about this era is that the studios and venues didn’t advertise that Dylan had changed. Fans came expecting to hear the old tunes and were preached at, instead.

That said, there are still classics among these Gospel years.
