It’s alright to serve and pamper women in politics in Des Moines, Iowa as long as they aren’t conservative women like Ivanka Trump. The first daughter stopped by Salon Spa W for a quick style on her recent visit to the state. Now the salon is facing a boycott.

On Monday, Salon Spa W posted a lovely picture of Ivanka alongside Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds. Along with the photo, was a caption that read “Our Monday kicked off with styling Ivanka Trump for her visit to Iowa! We (heart emoji) supporting women in politics.”

The salon, located a few blocks from the State Capitol and civic center, has a history of serving musicians, artists and celebrities. They’re also accustomed to working with state federal political figures including former president Barack Obama.

However, for some (leftists) customers, styling the first daughter’s hair is a reason to boycott. Some promised to cancel their appointments, while others accused the salon of supporting an anti-LGBT agenda.

“You respect money over women,” read one comment. “Not just women, but humanity. These two featured in your photo are disgraceful,” they added. Blindsided by the backlash for serving Ivanka, salon owner China Wong felt obliged to respond.

Of course,  the 2017  Woman Business Owner of the Year didn’t react to the vitriol in the manner liberals were hoping for.

A Mission to Serve

“We were taken aback by the response to the image below of our Governor with Ivanka Trump who received services from our salon,” wrote Wong. “While we are not a partisan organization we do see it as part of our mission to welcome people to Des Moines and serve everyone.”

As Wong’s response to the boycott began to circulate, social media users rushed to show support for Salon Spa W. By Thursday, the photo of Trump and Reynolds garnered more than 3000 comments. We’re happy to say most of them are now positive.

In her post, Wong added that “our purpose is making people look and feel beautiful.” It’s really too bad that liberal feminists don’t share that vision because they would surely be much happier than they obviously are right now. Ugly hearts are so out-of-style.
