If anyone needs more proof that Hollywood loves glorifying lies and corruption, CBS is offering it up. The network is producing a new legal drama in partnership with Jerry Bruckheimer and former U.S. Attorney General, Eric Holder. The project, Main Justice, is based on Holder’s life and work in the justice system.
Writing the show, is Sascha Penn from Power. The show centers around the U.S Attorney General, with the fifth floor of the Justice Department serving as the backdrop. The lead character takes on the biggest legal and investigative cases in the country all while being the youngest person to ever hold such an esteemed position.
Interestingly, Holder was the first African-American to serve as attorney general. He held his position in the Obama administration for six years, from 2009 to 2015. In 2014, Holder resigns his position but stays on until his successor takes over. Loretta Lynch assumed the role for the duration of Obama’s presidency.
Ironically, few people remember Holder for doing his job well. Holder’s most notable controversy is the “Operation Fast and Furious” scandal. The Justice Department allowed 2,000 guns to flow into Mexico, to allegedly track drug cartels. However, the agency lost track of the weapons.
Two of the guns, were later used in the murder of Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry.

Consequently, after refusing to provide documents regarding the operation in 2012, Holder was held in contempt of Congress. Upon hearing the news of Holder’s resignation two years later, Republicans were rejoicing. House Oversight Committee Chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa, calls him the “the most divisive U.S. Attorney General in modern history.”
Incidentally, Holder and Bruckheimer hold contrasting views on President Trump. Holder often opposes the president’s agenda and there are rumors he will run against him in 2020. On the other hand, Bruckheimer holds President Trump in high regards. “Listen, he’s an interesting, very successful man. He’s very smart,” Bruckheimer tells Variety.
CBS is not yet announcing who will be playing the title role in the series. We hear Colin Kaepernick is still looking for a job. After all, like Holder, he loves to hog the spotlight and is good at creating controversy. Sounds like a perfect fit.
