It’s very easy to get caught up in the everyday drive of daily life. The world is constantly driving us to succeed and pay bills. Work has deadlines, our bodies require constant attention, in the forms of food and fitness. And people are always asking us to help them do things. You have to help move, go to the groceries or whatever. If you don’t take time to meditate, it’s easy to forget that these things don’t really matter.

Stress is one of the leading killers in our society. It causes heart failure, stroke and addiction. Meditation can give us a sense of awareness, to rise above the stress of daily life. It can allow us to rise above competition, hierarchy and struggle. When we can become more consciously aware of what’s really important, we can drive our own selves. Using your own motives to guide you is a much healthier way to live your life.

Meditation Relieves Stress

Of course, deadlines will still be there. Your bills and taxes will not go away. And unwanted circumstances will develop. But if you meditate, when these things happen, it will not be so bad. You’ll be aware that these are just the everyday challenges and tests of the world. You’ll gain a deeper understanding about yourself too. At a spiritual level, you will have more appreciation for yourself. And when stress happens, you’ll just breathe deeply and relax.

Because the reality of it all is that most things are trivial. Getting stressed about the cable bill, what your boss thinks, these things don’t really matter. On the grand scheme of things, they’re blips on the radar. More importantly, they’re blips on your radar. No one else is really worried about the things you’re worried about. Also, when you meditate, you start to get a deeper sense of who you really are. I’m not talking about who you are from an EGO stand point. I mean who you are from a much deeper, oneness factor.

Meditation Combats the EGO

Meditation Leads to Deep Insight About Your LifeMeditation, allows you to dissolve the EGO and see the truth about yourself. That you’re one vital to the cosmos. And that although hard times will happen, in the end, they won’t really matter all that much. Thankfully, we have meditation. If we didn’t, the world would likely be, even more chaotic than it already is.

And the beauty of it, the more you meditate, the more you realize how trivial worry is. Not only that, but the deeper your understanding will get on a moment to moment basis. That is why it’s so important to meditate, there is no reason not to. Even if you think you don’t have time, you can make it. Deepak Chopra always says, “Meditate for 30 minutes a day. If you don’t have time to meditate for 30 minutes, meditate for 60.”

His point is that the only reason you wouldn’t have time is because you’re be driven by the world. This is the only life you get, so you better start living it how you want to live it. Because if you don’t, you’ll end up becoming what everyone else wants you to be.
