If you think that three crafts using concrete featured in our first article are the only DIY projects you can make with concrete, you are very much mistaken.

The nice thing about DIY concrete crafts is that they can be made using a practically mix-and-mold process. If you have the right equipment and materials, there is no stopping you from doing any easy DIY craft projects with cement mix.

If the old adage goes, “if there’s a will, there’s a way,” concrete crafts’ motto will be like this: “if there’s a mold, there is a craft.” (Yeah, I know. Pretty bad rhyming.)

Here are other crafts you can easily make using concrete:

Candleholder Crafts using Concrete http://www.designmom.com/2013/10/diy-cement-candleholders/

Concrete candleholders are a perfect for rooms or areas made of flammable materials. There is less possibility of toppling and burning things.

They are also perfect for outdoor intimate occasions, patios, and porches.

To make these candleholders, you will need a large plastic container. Most cement mixes do not stick to plastic so be sure to remember this. Just pour the cement mix on the mold, and  embed the tea candles before it dries.

You can out as many candles as you want, or as many as your container can hold.

If you want to replace the candles from time to time, make slots for candles while the mixture is still wet. You can do this by embedding small plastic containers (such as yogurt’s) on the mixture and placing some pebbles inside.

You need to place pebbles to hold the containers in place as the cement mixture tends to lift the containers up when it’s drying. Also, make sure that the candles will fit in the slots you created.

Read a step-by-step tutorial here.

You can also use the plastic toys children use to shape sand in beaches or  sandbox as molds. This will result in candleholders with interesting shapes.

Stool Crafts Using Concrete http://interior-design.wonderhowto.com/how-to/make-sweet-5-bar-stool-using-wooden-dowels-concrete-0143956/

Yeah, not that kind of stool.

This is probably the easiest stool you are going to make. This requires no hammering or nailing things and is quite straightforward.

You will need a bucket, pieces of wood or metal for the stands, and cement mix.

In the bucket, position the stands so that the stool will stand properly when put on a flat surface. You can check this by using any board that is as wide as the stools stand.

After you have positioned the stands, pour the cement mix and wait for it to dry. When it dries, sand the concrete portion to remove the rough parts.

You can then paint the stands, the seat, or the whole thing.

Tip: If you want a pop of color, but want a pop color, you should try dip-painting the stands with any pastel color. This will work best if you are using a light-colored wood stand.

Concrete… Beads…?

Yes, you’ve read it right! Concrete beads are perfect because of their durability and uniqueness.

Not many of us can say that they or someone they know have worn accessories with paper beads.

Concrete beads can be done easily by pouring the cement mix and waiting for it to dry in a mold made out of paper. Life’s Little Jems has a tutorial to do that.

These are bigger molds that were use as decors. If you make the mold smaller, you can make a fancy bead.

Multi-faceted 3D beads are gorgeous as pendant or bracelet charms as they might provide an edgier or more sophisticated look to any outfit depending on how it is worn.

You can also experiment using other small, readily-available objects to use as molds such as Legos. The beads pictured above were made using fondant
