Andrew Lincoln Made This “Embarrassing” Mistake His First Day On Set
Andrew Lincoln And Jon Bernthal On Day 1
In the beginning, Rick Grimes and Shane Walsh were police officers. Back in the pilot episode of The Walking Dead, Andrew Lincoln had a simple job, but his roots made it a little more difficult for him.
Jon Bernthal’s knee was busted, so the scene was written for the duo to drive around in a police car. Since Andrew Lincoln is from England though, he kept driving on the wrong side of the road!
He said Jon Bernthal looked pretty nervous the entire day.
“Most Incredible Experience Of My Life…”
At the San Diego Comic-Con, Andrew Lincoln told fans, “It was me and (Jon) Bernthal on that road doing a car block. Jon’s knee was busted, so I drove him around Atlanta on the way to work, and I kept driving on the left-hand side of the road.”
Lincoln added, “Then we had to get into a car and drive at 80 mph and stop. He has never sweat so much. It was Jon and me, terrified [and] trying to make sense of where we were. It’s very moving to see those 100 episodes. It’s been the most incredible experience of my life.”
Now, the group is thinking of the future.
Does This Mean The End For Rick Grimes?
In a different interview, Andrew Lincoln was asked about where he thought the show might go next. At one point, he described an ending where Rick gets bitten but doesn’t die, as if he’s the antidote to the entire series.
More recently, however, the star thinks his character might die so another can live. Lincoln believes that Rick Grimes will one day pass the torch to his son. Based on a new clip from the 100th episode, this could happen sooner rather than later.
In the new clip, which is meant to highlight the new character Abbud, Carl Grimes is alone and looking for gas. The scene mirrors an episode from the pilot where Rick Grimes was out of gas and in a similar position.
Carl Grimes could soon take over as the leader of the apocalypse.
Do you think we’ll see Rick Grimes die anytime soon?
