TBBT Creator’s New Netflix Project

Chuck Lorre, the creator of The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men signed on to work with Netflix, fans were excited to hear about the project. The kooky new trailer shows Kathy Bates as a marijuana-laced star of Disjointed.

The trailer appears to show Kathy Bates son interested in turning the legal weed business into the next Wal-Mart, but Bates wants to keep it pure. Kathy Bates plays Ruth in the zany comedy.

It looks like she’s living her dream of working in a legal cannabis dispensary.

Cinema Blend writes:

“It’s never good to judge a book by its cover, — or a joint by its roller, in this case — but this trailer is something else entirely. Disjointed stars Kathy Bates as Ruth Whitefeather Feldman, a widely known partaker in marijuana usage who runs a dispensary in Los Angeles.”

“To keep the business afloat, Ruth hires her own son, who is newly graduated and entering the “real world” in a way that’s bound to get uncomfortable at times. Although possibly not in ways that audiences are used to from sitcoms.”

Similar to Netflix’s The Ranch, this doesn’t look safe for work…

Comedy Features A Laugh Track

Jezebel writes:

“Like any other sitcom, Disjointed will be 22 episodes long and will feature a laugh track, which will either be just fine or feel very hokey. There are a lot of hack-y stoner jokes, including various shots of people choking on bong rips. Cool.”

”I have high hopes for this because I love Kathy Bates and marijuana in equal measure, but there’s a Yoda joke crammed in at the end of the trailer that made me feel deep waves of second-hand embarrassment from which I am still recovering.”
