Galecki recently told Stephen Colbert that he moved to Hollywood on his own at just 15 years old. He is originally from Chicago but made the leap by himself in order to pursue acting. He lived alone, which is hard to imagine at that age. Colbert told him, “If I was 15 and had my own TV show I might’ve partied quite a bit.”

One of Galecki’s most notable early roles was in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. The TBBT star played Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark.
In 1992 Johnny Galecki played David MacGregor in the series Billy. David was a teenager whose mother married the titleholder Billy in a green-card agreement. He will appear in the new horror film Rings, the third installment in The Ring series. Johnny told Colbert that horror films aren’t his favorite to make because they require so many special effects. He plays Gabriel, a professor to two people who have watched the deadly video that the film surrounds. This is surely a step out of his comfort zone and should be interesting to see.
Did you realize Johnny Galecki had worked so much before The Big Bang Theory?
