Korie Robertson recently admitted she and her family are trying to be better neighbors this year. The Robertsons love to do everything big, so they decided to actually invite their favorite doughnut shop owner for lunch. Talk about living out the Gospel and practicing what you preach.

The Robertsons’ Lunch Guests

We’ve been going to the same delicious donut shop on the way to church every Sunday for years…Super Donuts!! They’re always smiling, throwing in a little extra and making us feel special (I think they do that for everyone who comes by😉) We wanted to do the same for them!! @realwilliebosshog invited their family over for dinner. We wore name tags because we’re classy like that and made a big pot of soup and cornbread. ………. One of our goals this year is to better live out the verses below and as @bobgoff says “love our actual neighbor” It’s been fun! Invite someone that you see every week but don’t really know into your home and break out the name tags! ……… Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 ……… Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” Luke 14:12-14

The Robertsons are a family of faith and food. They love gathering together for a meal and chowing down on some grub. Korie Robertson recently told fans about how they’re trying to live out the scripture this year.

The Robertsons have been going to the same doughnut shop on the way to church for as long as they can remember. The shop is called Super Donuts and it’s a Sunday staple for this family. Korie told fans, “They’re always smiling, throwing in a little extra and making us feel special (I think they do that for everyone who comes by😉) We wanted to do the same for them!!”

Willie invited the family over for dinner at their place. Korie said, “We wore name tags because we’re classy like that and made a big pot of soup and cornbread.” From the looks of the picture, it seems the family brought over 11 members to dine with the reality stars.

What possessed the Robertsons to invite over their local doughnut providers after all these years? Korie said, “One of our goals this year is to better live out the verses below and as @bobgoff says “love our actual neighbor” It’s been fun!” She then challenged her followers, “Invite someone that you see every week but don’t really know into your home and break out the name tags!”

Korie is referring to Mark 12:30-31 which states, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.”

The Robertsons are a great example of living out the scripture. They’re willing to do anything it takes to live more like Jesus. Would you invite your local donut shop owner into your home?
