Phil Robertson’s New Show: Approved By His Family Or Not?

The Robertsons are a tight-knit group. They’re known for their fierce family loyalty. However, fans were worried that the family wasn’t supporting Phil Robertson’s latest project. It looks like things are turning around though. Si and Jase Robertson finally appeared in Phil’s new show.

Phil Robertson’s New Show

Phil Robertson’s new show In The Woods With Phil promises to be everything Duck Dynasty was not. It aims to steer away from political correctness and instead say it like it is. Phil said in a promotional video, “For far too long we have been told to shut up. No more. Here’s the deal, America. These are my woods. Out here, I call the shots. Out here, we reject political correctness, or as I like to say, ‘pontificated crap.”

Many fans were quick to point out that the famous family had remained relatively silent about their patriarch’s return to TV. Though they famously backed their father in 2013, after he was suspended for controversial comments in a GQ article, they also distanced themselves quite a bit from his polarizing views. At one point, Willie Robertson said, “Phil is not our spokesman for sure… We’re all individuals. We all have the same core faith beliefs. Dad comes from a different time.”

That’s why many fans assumed the children of the family were distancing themselves from the project. They know Phil well. They know he is bound to say something offensive and their target audiences and customers might be offended.

Family Support

However, it seems that some of the family members are in fact on board with the project. Both Jase and Si Robertson appeared on one of the In The Woods episodes last month. In a hilarious viral video clip, Si and Jase discuss the OJ Simpson trial while sitting in a duck blind. Though Jase thinks OJ should have been found guilty, Si says he understands the judicial system and thinks the trial ended fairly.

If these two men didn’t support their dad and brother, we have to assume they wouldn’t appear on the show. It seems at least Jase and Si are happy Phil Robertson has returned to TV. We’ll have to wait and see whether Jep or Willie will join their brothers and appear on the CRTV show.
