Uncle Si almost died on TV. He admits it himself.

On a Duck Dynasty episode called “The Ducket List,” Uncle Si realizes, with horror, that he could’ve easily died. He discovered that a tree had fallen on the spot where he always sits.

“That tree fell right where I sit,” he told the TV crew. “Boys, I was almost a goner.”

Later, he went into more depth about his reaction when seeing that fallen tree.

“These boys don’t understand, when I [saw] that crushed duck blind, I saw my whole life flash before my very eyes,” he said.

Because of this near-death experience, Uncle Si felt inspired to make his own bucket list. Although the thought of Si getting crushed by a tree is not at all funny, the list he made is hilarious.

Uncle Si’s bucket list includes:

  • Become an astronaut
  • Eat at a hibachi restaurant
  • Go bull riding
  • Fly in a hot air balloon

Si accomplished the last two before the actual list blew away during the hot air balloon ride.

At the end of the episode when the family is sitting down to dinner, Willie Robertson (Si’s nephew) points out that life doesn’t always go the way you want it to. He says it’s important to enjoy one another and help each other with personal goals.

“That’s why it’s important to take the goals of your loved ones seriously,” Willie says, “Whether it’s giving your mother the benefit of the doubt, cheering your son on as he graduates high school, or even helping your crazy uncle check some items off his bucket list when your loved ones decide to pursue their dreams, the best thing you can give them is your support.”
