Chemical Weapons in Syria
Photo credit: almanar.com President Trump has had an overwhelming first 100 days in office. It’s safe to say that he has had some major successes-and some devastating losses. Although, it would be incredibly unfair to place the blame for the latter squarely on the president’s shoulders. And the reason for that is quite simple-many of those losses are a direct result of Obama’s failures.
One of Obama’s biggest failures was his Syria “red line.” However, a newly declassified document may explain why his imaginary line was just political hyperbole.
French Intelligence just released their “national evaluation” report which concluded that “Obama failed to remove chemical weapons in Syria.”
In 2013, Obama, along with then Secretary of State John Kerry, orchestrated a “deal” that would ensure Syria would disclose and remove all chemical weapons in their arsenal. The removal was to be facilitated by Russia. Obama was the chief architect of the agreement that was created in response to the Sarin gas attack that killed almost 1,500 Syrian citizens.
In part, the report by France stated that “major doubts remain as to the accuracy, exhaustiveness, and sincerity of the decommissioning of Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal.” Yet on several occasions, Obama officials…
Boasted Their Success

Former National Security Adviser, Susan Rice, spoke to NPR back in January saying “We were able to get the Syrian government to voluntarily and verifiably give up its chemical weapons stockpile.” Her statement is even less believable now, given her role in the unmasking scandal. Back in 2014, Kerry
Back in 2014, Kerry tweeted:
“Today the last 8% of declared chemical weapons were removed from #Syria. Great work done by all involved”
The key word in his illustrious statement was “declared.” French Intelligence found that not only does Syria maintain the capacity to produce and stockpile chemical weapons, but that Assad attempted to purchase “several tons” of the main ingredient Isopropanol. The report alleges that Assad sought to acquire the materials after he agreed to remove chemical weapons from the country.
So, is it possible that Obama and Kerry were just that stupid? Definitely. But, it is far more likely that they did what they continue to do they lied. Regardless, French Intelligence concluded that Obama’s Syria plan was an “outright failure,” much like the rest of his presidency.
