I love my grandmother very much. I remember calling her whenever I felt scared or hurt – especially as a kid. However, I’ve never shared my thankfulness with my granny. I do tell her I love her sometimes, but I still think I should show a little more gratitude, as she was always there for me. How about you? There are a lot of things that we take for granted. If your grandmother does any of these, tell her “thank you.”

  1. Caretaker.

My siblings and I have never experienced being taken care of by a stranger. Whenever my parents needed to leave town, I had my grandmother to watch over us.

  2. Smile-maker.

My grandmother cheered me up whenever kids at school made fun of me. She never failed to put a smile on my face.

  3. Always Present.

I remember one time when we had a school play that my mom and dad couldn’t attend.  My grandmother was there to help me with my costume and props.

  4. Peacekeeper.

If ever my parents fought, she was always there to help me understand things – she promised that she’d always be there for me.

  5. Encourager.

She always has had nice things to say to me whenever I have felt down or useless. I believe her. Every piece of advice is always believable, wise and simple to understand.

  6. Storyteller.

My grandmother’s stories have always been amusing. We never get tired of her stories. She has this gift of making us feel very safe and very warm whenever the storytelling session begins. I guess it’s just one of her amazing talents.

  7. Courage-giver.

She held my hands firmly at the dentist and assured me I had no need to worry. It was the scariest time of my life – and she was there.

  8. Chef Extraordinaire.

She made the best brownies in our neighborhood. I loved it when my friends spoke about my grandmother’s brownies. It made me feel so proud.

  9. Life-Coach.

She taught me how to respect and love myself first before I could expect others to do so.

  10. Promise-Keeper.

She always made sure her promises were never broken. Even when she forgot, she still found a way to make it up for us.

  11. Music-Lover.

My grandmother was so into music, even though it was not professionally. She introduced me to a few musical instruments, such as the guitar and flute. She taught me to love and appreciate music.

  12. Guardian Angel.

My grandmother makes sure that whatever I do, I’m safe and nothing will go wrong. She is like a guardian angel and I think she deserves all the thanks in the world.

My Grandmother Is the Best

I have the best grandmother in the whole world. Even with a handful of friends, she has her ways of making me feel truly special and uniquely loved. What I want is to have the traits my grandmother possesses when the time comes. My childhood was never perfect, nobody does, but I would never change it – and she’s a big part of it.
