Wil Wheaton Joins The Cast

When Wil Wheaton, from Star Trek: The Next Generation decided to become a regular cast member on The Big Bang Theory, a frenemy was born. Sheldon constantly battles wits against Wheaton, who usually gets the best of him.

In “The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary,” Wheton arrived with a vengeance.

In “The Bakersfield Expedition,” Leonard and the gang is literally drenched in an iconic Star Trek reference. This episode from Season 6 is a major tribute to Star Trek: The Next Generation. On their way to the Bakersfield Comic-Con, they dressed for cosplay but complications arrive when their car is stolen.

Sheldon loves the original Spock, Leonard Nimoy, so anyone who tries to take his place shall fear the wrath of Sheldon Cooper. In “The Recombination Hypothesis from Season 5, Sheldon takes a life-size cardboard cutout of the new Spock and gives the new version a piece of his mind.

Amy Joins In On The Fun

In an effort to get Sheldon to find a few more emotions for Amy, she decides to connect with his childhood dreams of being on Star Trek. In Season 5, Episode 23, Amy says “We’re playing doctor, Star Trek style.” She dresses as a Star Trek officer in “The Launch Acceleration.”

Mint In The Box

In an episode that actually featured the voice of Leonard Nimoy, Sheldon actually started to think he was losing his mind. Nimoy played the voice of a Spock action figure in an episode called “The Transporter Malfunction.”

In Season 5, Episode 20, Sheldon had decided to open a vintage, mint-in-box 1975 Mego Star Trek transporter with a real transporter action. When Sheldon accidentally breaks his toy, he decides to swap it with Leonard’s version.

Nimoy chastises Sheldon for swapping out the broken toy.
