Simon Helberg and Jocelyn Towne have been married since July 15, 2007. The actor couple made a huge statement at last night’s SAG awards about the Syrian refugee ban put in place by President Trump. Simon held up a sign that said, “Refugees Welcome,” and Jocelyn had “LET THEM IN” written in permanent marker across her chest. As protests spread at airports across the US, Simon, and Jocelyn stood in solidarity on the red carpet.

Underneath Simon Helberg’s political statement was a velvet green tuxedo. Jocelyn wore a textured white gown with a large cutout extending from her sternum to her naval. The couple don’t have Instagram accounts. However, Simon has been very vocal on twitter. He is fiercely opposed to President Trump’s policies. He has also been retweeting the names of holocaust victims turned away by the United States during World War II. Simon did not, however, comment on social media about he and his wife’s SAG award wardrobe.

Simon isn’t the only actor who spoke out at the SAG awards. Kerry Washington adorned a safety pin on her arm. She said the pin was a symbol of solidarity with those affected by the ban. Kim Kardashian also spoke out, tweeting a graph explaining the number of American citizen deaths caused by terrorists in comparison to lawn mowers. Other actors used their acceptance speeches to express their political sentiments.

Neither Simon nor Jocelyn spoke on the red carpet. Instead, they let their scrawled words speak for themselves. Ashton Kutcher opened the night by welcoming everyone in airports watching. He stated they “belong in my America.”
