Michael Moore Talks Presidential Race 2020
On ABC’s The View, activist, and filmmaker Michael Moore once again pushed that a celebrity should run for president in 2020. Essentially, many believe Trump opened the door to those with diverse backgrounds.
Originally, Moore pushed for The Rock to run but now he’s focusing on Tom Hanks for the Democratic slot. Moore said Hilary Clinton won the popular vote, but then said, “We need to run a beloved American in 2020.”
Moore even joked that Whoopi Goldberg should run with Michelle Obama as her running mate.

“It’s very clear that America loves celebrities, ’cause that’s why they voted for him,” she said of Trump. “They thought they knew him. They believed that that was his office. Listen, I talked to as many of these voters as you have. They believed he was actually in his office [doing business]. My face fell off!” Bila responded, “But as a businessman, they looked at him, even his television show, he looked like that savvy businessman.”
She then said to Moore, “Look, hey I want you to run celebrities. I’m a conservative. I don’t want them to win. I don’t want the Democrats to win.” He then declared, “We’re gonna win with Oprah!” Of course, as of now, Oprah has no intention of running, and Tom Hanks running for president seems to just be an “SNL” joke.”

Some of the other hopefuls include billionaires like Mark Cuban, Elon Musk, and Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. The founder of Facebook even seems to be campaigning early based on some of his Ford visits and Harvard speeches.
Tom Hanks or Oprah might have a good chance, based on the fact that everyone does seem to love them. The Rock, whose real name is Dwayne Johnson has also said he wouldn’t rule out the possibility.
