Scott Gimple Delivers New Characters

According to showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Rick Grimes is prepared to lay down his life in Season 8. It’s also clear that Jadis, Simon, and Enid will be in the show a lot more than they have been in the past.

Due to the Scavenger’s betrayal and the other deaths of those who lost their lives in Alexandria that day, Rick needs more allies and fighters. Despite uniting several groups, it’s clear that Negan has several more men than Rick Grimes.

Luckily, two new faces will be joining Rick in the fight very soon.

Some fans were displeased, to say the least, when they announced that we would see more of Jadis next season. She’s definitely going to be the type of character that fans love to hate.

That said, two new cast members will soon arrive in Alexandria. First, we should meet Dillon, a twenty-something with a knack for sarcasm. If he’s actually funny, maybe he can try to fill the void of the missed Abraham.

Then there’s a Muslim character named Abbud. Similar to Morgan back in Season 3, Abbud will arrive highly damaged from being alone too long in the undead world.

Konbini reports:

“While Dillon’s character may last several seasons, Abbud is expected to be temporary. In other words, he’ll probably be killed off in some horrible manner. As it turns out, Abbud isn’t actually the first Muslim to appear on The Walking Dead. In Season 7, Ezekiel is seen talking in his yard with Nabila, who is wearing a headscarf.”

Nabila was quickly a fan favorite, however, which means we’ll likely see more of her and perhaps the reason for writing in Abbud. Nabila was the girl talking about the garden troubles. She was also deathly afraid of Shiva.
