Mayim Bialik has admitted she didn’t quite fit in when she first got to the TBBT set. Coming in after three seasons had to to be tough, and Mayim equated it to transferring high schools.

Amy Farrah Fowler came into The Big Bang Theory world in Season 3, and it hasn’t been the same since. Amy brings new comedy to the show. She has taught Sheldon a lot about relationships and life. There’s no arguing that she’s been incredibly beneficial to the show’s major success.

However, apparently, Mayim was a bit self-conscious when assimilating into the cast. She told The Hallmark Channel, “It’s kind of like entering high school a couple weeks after the final semester has started and everyone’s picked out their lockers and who they want to sit with and then you come in, like ‘I need a locker! and someone to sit with at lunch!”

It sounds like Mayim had to do a bit of work to fit in with the tight-knit group, but ultimately she has become part of the family. She said, “…it takes a little bit of adjustment, but we have a warm cast, a really warm staff, we have a great set of writers…It goes smoothly.”

Mayim Sounds A Bit Like Amy

When Mayim was describing the process of joining The Big Bang Theory set, she sounded a bit like Amy as she observed the social hierarchies and procedures that went down. She noted, “…there’s this whole other aspect to being an actor, which is all the social interactions that go on, to make all of that happen. So it definitely took some time, but we’ve melded pretty well.

Mayim also admitted that she and Jim Parsons are great friends and that their relationship makes filming together a breeze. Would you have felt like an outsider coming into The Big Bang Theory cast after three seasons?
