It appears as though Belk department store is the latest company to choose politics over principles. Over the weekend, Belk abruptly stopped selling Ivanka Trump apparel and accessories. At least on their website.

A search of their website yielded no results for Ivanka Trump merchandise. It is not yet clear whether or not items are still being sold in stores. Their decision comes just after Nordstrom and Nieman Marcus made the announcement that they were parting ways with Donald Trump’s daughter.

Ironically, “poor performance” was the reason a Belk spokesperson gave for ending the relationship.

“We continually review our assortment and the performance of the brands we carry. And we make adjustments as part of our normal course of business operations.”

Belk has 300 locations across 16 states and has been another target for boycotts from grabyourwallet.org.

And it would seem that what is happening would be better defined as…
