President-elect Donald Trump has stated in a series of tweets last Saturday that “only ‘stupid’ people” do not want U.S. and Russia relations to improve.
Trump elaborates that the U.S. already has “enough problems around the world.” Fixing the relationship between the two countries will be one less problem for the country.
The relationship between U.S. and Russia worsened during the Obama administration. The outgoing president has been vocal about his opposition to Russian policies, citing human rights’ violations among other reasons.
