Former President Barack Obama, often lauded himself as a pillar of wisdom, especially when it came to the plight of incarcerated African-Americans. His answer for dealing with the problem was to grant clemency to several convicted felons, serving life sentences for drug trafficking.

The results are in. Texas resident Carol Denise Richardson, a recipient of Obama favor, was serving out a life sentence after being convicted in 2006. She was charged with conspiracy to possess and intent to distribute more than 50 grams of crack cocaine. As well as, two additional counts of intent to distribute the drug.

Richardson had a fairly extensive criminal history before her 2006 arrest, which is what ultimately led to her life sentence. Now any reasonable person would agree that she had no respect for the law, nor did she possess the desire to change her life, right? Well, not Obama. He thought she deserved a second chance and granted her clemency before leaving office.

So, what did Richardson do with this rare gift of freedom? She got in trouble again. Pasadena police arrested her for stealing $60 worth of laundry detergent that she planned to sell to buy drugs.
