“You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!”
Everyone remembers that classic line from the sentimental holiday movie, A Christmas Story.
This family comedy about young Ralphie Parker, whose only wish for Christmas is a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and “this thing which tells time.”
In case you’re not familiar with the story, Ralphie in a daydream fantasy, imagines himself saving his family from a gang of burglars. Decked out in glittering cowboy garb, takes his trusty Red Ryder BB-gun to the window and takes out the criminals one-by-one.
That was 1989. In this mashup- Ralphie has just entered the fantasy world of the 21st century and …
“Adios, Walkers!”

The new fan-created video features the same scene, with Ralphie cautiously shooting out his kitchen window. Only this time, it’s not a band of cartoonish robbers he’s taking aim at — it’s a horde of walkers. And that’s not a BB-gun he’s sporting… it’s a full-blown shotgun!
Just like the original version, Ralphie proves to be a crack shot in his zombie fantasy. Heads explode with every shot Ralphie takes. The video is short at only 30 seconds, but it’s a hilarious holiday distraction.
And if you think about it, there’s another parallel between The Walking Dead and A Christmas Story. After being warned repeatedly that he’ll shoot his eye out, Ralphie does indeed do nearly just that. His first shot with the Red Ryder BB-gun ricochets and knocks his glasses off. Fearing the worst, Ralphie lies and tells his mother a falling icicle was responsible for the injury.
On The Walking Dead, Carl didn’t shoot his eye out — but his eye was shot out nonetheless! If Ralphie could see what Carl looked like after Negan had him remove his bandage, he might’ve taken everyone’s advice and asked for a different Christmas gift.
So how long do you think Ralphie would want his treasured Red Ryder BB-gun in a zombie apocalypse?
