Rick Grimes Preaches To The Choir
San Diego Comic Con visitors were the first to see the much-anticipated Walking Dead Season 8 trailer, but now the amazing footage is also online. Above all else, it looks like Rick’s group is organized and ready for a fight.
The Saviors and Negan have somehow captured Father Gabriel, as we can see in Negan’s opening remarks. Other than that, it looks like everyone is in their place and based on a secret note, Dwight might be working with Rick and Daryl against Negan.
Beyond the usual suspects, it looks like there are more walkers than usual, many of which are being used as barricades.
Michonne Is Out Of “The Hospital Bed”
The Verge writes:
“An all-out war between the Saviors and Rick and his crew is teased in the trailer, including, of course, zombies, zombies, and more zombies, some strangers to us and others bearing a distinct resemblance to characters we know. Michonne is still alive, staring angrily in a car and Rick looking worried.”
“Then, in the second half of the trailer, we hear Negan give a wartime speech: “That bigger world is ours, by right. Those who use and kill, we end them. Everything we’ve beaten, everything we’ve endured, everything we’ve risen above, everything we’ve become — no matter what comes next, we’ve won. We’ve already won!”
The Kingdom Prepares To Fight The Saviors
Vanity Fair reports:
“Diehard fans of The Walking Dead will have to wait until October 22 to see how the war brewing between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) plays out, but those lucky enough to score a seat to the show’s Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con Friday got a sneak peek. AMC was kind enough to quickly put the Season 8 trailer online so the rest of the fandom can see why those in the room called the trailer “unusual.” Is that really a massive time jump we spy at the end?”
