Norman Reedus And Andrew Lincoln Negotiate Deal For The Walking Dead Season 9

Like Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead isn’t afraid to kill off major characters. In fact, the show has killed off so many key players that some fans have left the show. But, as far as we know, two major players have confirmed Season 9 roles.

Back in Season 7, fans were shocked when Abraham Ford and Glenn Rhee were both killed. Based on the comic book, fans expected for Negan to take one life. But when he took two (and took them graphically), fans were outraged.

Then, the writers doubled-down and revealed young Carl Grimes had a bite at the end of Season 8A. This is the biggest shift we’ve ever seen if Carl dies.

When the show returns in February, we’ll find out the truth about Carl Grimes. Currently, there are some fan theories as to how the boy might survive the bite, but things don’t look good in terms of a survival.

However, leaders Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) have both been confirmed for Season 9 of The Walking Dead.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote, “Leading men Lincoln and Reedus are both expected to return for season nine as sources tell us that they are renegotiating their deals with the series.”

In reality, this news only means that the duo will make it until Season 9, Episode 1. After all, we expect to see Carl Grimes again in Season 8B, but he’ll likely only be in the ninth episode. It’s possible the episode will play like a living funeral for him.

Last year, we found out that the actors who play Simon, Jadis, and Enid were all listed as regulars for Season 8, but the two females still had small roles. It’s possible that Rick and Daryl could be “dying” by the time Season 9 gears up. This doesn’t even include the potential jump in time.

In the comic book, there’s a time jump after the war. If Season 8 concludes the war with the Saviors, they may follow the comic story into the future. But if Carl Grimes dies, it’s hard to say how close they will stick to the comics after this season.

For now, we only know that our fearless leaders are going to be alive for at least nine more episodes.

Do you think the show will ever kill off Rick Grimes or Daryl Dixon?
