Sadie has been trailblazing her own path to fame.

She’s considering being a pastor. Her country-wide tour for young people is a hit. Also, she’ll be interviewing artists at Winter Jam 2017.

So what’s her secret? Where did she get the drive, tenacity, and ideas for all the things she does?

For that answer, we have to go back to her high school days, which weren’t that long ago. She was a dedicated tennis player and a javelin thrower, and she said they played an important role in her success.

Learning to take criticism as an athlete was a big character builder for her, shaping her into the woman she is today.

“If I wouldn’t [have] had the coaches that I had when I was young push me the way that they pushed me, then it would have been a different experience on Dancing With The Stars, having that work and that practice every day,” she told Birmingham Christian Family Magazine.

“I am thankful for all the coaches that really pushed me when I didn’t want to be pushed and made me do things that were hard.”

Doing hard things even when you despise the thought of them — that’s the key to Sadie’s success. And each of us could do well if we followed suit.
