Phil Robertson has done a lot of things that the world has found controversial. That’s why his net worth is surprisingly high.

These comments also led the Rev. Jesse Jackson to respond to Phil. He’s made the point that Hillary Clinton is not our redeemer. He has a clear stance on the Supreme Court.
The list goes on.
You’d think after all this news, often reported negatively by the more liberal news outlets, that his “stock” would’ve gone down. You know — negative things have a negative correlation.
Not so with Phil.
He was the one that started Duck Commander with that first duck call back in 1972. This company led to hunting videos, which led to Duck Dynasty, which led to fame and money.
In fact, Phil net worth could be even higher than it is if he had made a different choice in college, where he got a Master’s Degree in education. He was offered a $60,000 contract to play in the NFL (this was in the 60s, so $60K would’ve gone a long way).
“I thought, ‘And I’d miss duck season?” he said. “And I’d have large, violent…men chasing me trying to stomp me in the dirt?’ It just seemed like a lot of stress and not a lot of money.”
