Amy hangs the friendship painting up in Penny’s apartment by youtube.com
The Property Division Collision is the tenth episode in season 10 of The Big Bang Theory. As its title suggests, Leonard and Sheldon are dividing up their possessions now that they live separately. But the guys are not the only one who have shared treasures to divide. Amy decides that Penny is probably missing her painting and brings it to her and Leonard.
History of the Horror Painting
The painting first appeared back in season 5 in the episode The Rothman Disintegration. Amy Farrah Fowler had always been a loner without friends. She was never cool until she met Penny. Penny is her “bbf” and her love for the blonde borders on the point of obsession at first. Over the seasons, Amy has learned to ‘e cool’ as Penny puts it. But her coolness never took effect until she met Penny.
To thank her bff for being her friend, Amy had the ugly painting made and even hung it up for Penny. Penny hated it but did not have the heart to tell her.
The Painting Resurrection

After its initial appearance, the painting went dormant for the rest of the seasons. It did not resurface until last night’s 10th episode in season 10, The Property Division Collision. Amy and Sheldon decide that they need to return Penny’s present to her because she loves it so much. Amy remarks that she cannot wait to see the look on Penny’s face when she receives her gift a second time.

Penny’s face is pretty remarkable as she sees Sheldon and Amy carrying her worst nightmare into her new apartment. Penny argues with the two of them, trying to convince Amy that she should keep it. She tried telling Amy that since Amy loves it so much then she should keep it. To which Amy replies that Penny loves it so much too.
In the end Penny lost the battle and Leonard ended up hanging the picture in their apartment.
