Singer-songwriter Lawson Bates is currently on tour. As a Tennessee native, Bates understands the importance of music, family and his faith in God. Because of their similar beliefs, he and Sadie Robertson have teamed up for a new music video.

Bates’ songs include “I Thought I Had Problems,” “Freedom Sure Ain’t Free,” and “I Will Always,” among others. While working on the new single and music video, Sadie and Bates posted a few photos together.

‘I’ve poured so much of my heart into this new record,” said the musician.

“The two reality stars teamed up for the video, and JJJ has the exclusive first look at it before it premieres this summer. “I’ve poured so much of my heart into this new record, and I really feel this video, for the single titled ‘Past The Past,’ brings so much life to the song!” Lawson said

“I hope it’ll be something that all the amazing people who’ve supported my journey in music enjoy!” He adds about calling Sadie up for the part of his love interest, “I knew getting Sadie involved would make it even better. I was thrilled she liked it as well. I’m extremely grateful to her for being a part. She was perfect for the role, and incredible to work with.”

Sadie has grown quite familiar to the spotlight and she’s got nothing but kind words to say about the collaboration. “Lawson is a one of a kind guy!” Sadie shared with JJJ.

“Such a gentleman despite what his part in the video makes him out to be! We laughed all day watching him try acting like a jerk for the video.” She added, “Not only was it so fun and exciting to be in his music video, but it was also a pleasure to just get to spend a day with him and his beautiful family.”
