It’s hard to imagine anyone other than Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes at this point, but it was originally meant for Thomas Jane. In fact, there is even a Punisher reference (Rick’s shirt looks like The Punisher skull logo) in the first episode that was meant to showcase Tom Jane’s Marvel career.
