Mary Kate admitted that she often thought about finding her man, even in high school. She wanted the man to be “the spiritual leader” of her marriage and pursued a guy with a Christian faith. She also describes waiting to find the right guy to marry, even though she arguably waited far less than most people. “But when I say “waiting” I wasn’t just sitting around doing nothing expecting for the right guy to come in and sweep me off my feet.” Mary Kate wrote. “I was pursuing the Lord. To this day, that period of time with the Lord when I was single was one of the sweetest seasons, even if it was also really hard.”

Mary Kate Robertson also stressed that she and John Luke never claimed to be more mature than most 19-year-olds. Lots have people have questioned whether or not these two are too young for marriage. Mary Kate replied, “Ummm who said we think we’re grown up? Haha, we didn’t claim at 19 to be grown up and we also didn’t claim to know all the answers. We just knew that we loved each other and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We knew we had some growing up to do, and it has been SO fun getting to grow up together.”

We think that’s a pretty great way to put it. Do you think Mary Kate and John Luke Robertson should have waited longer to be wed?
