End of the Road for Kaley Cuoco?

With and before the airing of season 10, rumors have been flying about this season of The Big Bang Theory being the last, back and forth in both directions.

I’ve tried to keep readers updated during all the confusion. Now, the newest rumor buzzing around is that season 11 has been

Now, the newest rumor buzzing around is that season 11 has been canceled. Or…that the show will go on, but without Kaley Cuoco, a.k.a. Penny. Can The Big Bang Theory really succeed without her?

Despite having a great start to its Season 10, none of the cast members have been able to guarantee that The Big Bang Theory would be renewed for a Season 11 (http://www.morningnewsusa.com/). This is despite all the talk about the show continuing.

Even though contract negotiations are currently underway for the key members of the show regarding the next season, it is highly doubtful if CBS would agree to a salary hike if the actors decide to push for a higher payday (http://www.morningnewsusa.com/).

$1,000,000 per Episode

Actors Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, and Kaley Cuoco already take in a million dollars per episode. While their co-stars Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg make $900,000 each. The production cost of each TBBT episode has been estimated at $9 million, reports TV Series Finale (http://www.morningnewsusa.com/).

However, according to Australia Network News, “The Big Bang Theory” is one of the highest rated shows on CBS, and the network has a wonderful relationship with showrunner Chuck Lorre and would not want to ruin that by prematurely canceling the show, especially when it still has quite a large following (http://www.morningnewsusa.com/)

Farewell to Kaley?

But Kaley Cuoco has been dropping hints which would suggest that Season 10 might be the end of the road for the show, for example on her Jimmy Kimmel appearance. Does this mean that there is a possibility that she might not return for the next season? If that were to happen, can the show survive without her?

Interestingly, Kaley Cuoco’s Penny wasn’t an original character choice for the show initially. Amanda Walsh was cast in as “Katie”, a street smart, bold woman, reports Movie Pilot. Later, the creators decided to go for a more quirky pick in Kaley Cuoco’s Penny. The rest, of course, is history (http://www.morningnewsusa.com/).

I don’t think the show would have been as a big of a hit as is had Katie been the female lead. The cast as it is now has perfect chemistry. But we’ll never really know, unless they bring Katie back if Kaley quits. I don’t think that will go over very well though. Too many people love Kaley Cuoco and love her as Penny. Plus, Lenny fans will be absolutely devastated. They have waited for 10 seasons for these characters to end up together.

What are your thoughts on this rumor? Will you stop watching if this does happen? Do you think the show should just end after this season instead? Or would you like to see a new female lead? Who would you suggest to be on the show? Tell us in the comments below.
