Not long before The Big Bang Theory took CBS by storm, actress Kaley Cuoco was on a series called 8 Simple Rules with television superstar John Ritter. After a few seasons working together, Ritter passed away.

Last Monday, actress Kaley Cuoco took some time to pay tribute to her former co-star on the 14th anniversary of his death. Ritter died at the age of 54 and began his career on Three’s Company.

Cuoco posted a picture of herself and Ritter on Instagram.

“Today, 14 years ago, we lost one of the best there was… still not a day goes by where he doesn’t make me laugh one way or another,” wrote the actress, about her fellow co-star.

On the series, Cuoco played Bridge Hennessy, the oldest daughter of Ritter’s character, Paul Hennessey. The ABC series also starred former Married with Children star, Katey Sagal, who later landed a role on Sons of Anarchy.

Ritter died unexpectantly during the second season of the series in 2003.

John Ritter was only in 31 of the 76 episodes, which also starred James Garner as Jim Egan. In Season 3, to keep the show afloat, comedian David Spade took over to play C.J. Barnes, a cousin of the family who lived in the basement.

In addition to 8 Simple Rules and Three’s Company, actor John Ritter has over 100 other credits to his name, including his very first role in a TV movie called Crazy World, Crazy People, which premiered back in 1968.

Ritter played some parts on MASH, Kojak, The Bob Newhart Show, Mary Tyler Moore, The Waltons, and The Love Boat before landing the role of Jack Tripper and David Bell on Three’s Company.

Other notable works include Sling Blade, Bad Santa, Hearts Afire, and voice work on shows like King of the Hill and the cartoon Clifford.
