Business is business. Most companies are in business to make money. This is something President-elect Trump clearly understands. Apparently he is not the only one. Now, there is a company willing to build Trump’s wall.

Who They Are

The company, according to the International Business Times, is Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua or GCC. In business since 1941, they are one of the largest cement manufacturers in Mexico. Almost 75% of their annual sales revenue is generated from their U.S. based plants, located in Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico.

CEO Enrique Escalante knows that being successful means securing work and getting the job done. And in business, there is not much room for politics. When asked by Reuters why he would build the wall, he said “We can’t be choosy,” We’re an important producer in that area and we have to respect our clients on both sides of the border.”

Escalante did not expressly say he supports Donald Trump, but he does sees the value in his plans to invest in energy and infrastructure noting that “For the business we’re in, Trump is a candidate that does favor the industry quite a bit.”

Getting the Job Done

Cutting your nose off to spite your face does not work well in the business world. It is all about supply and demand for most companies. When you have a customer that needs your product, you find a way to meet their need. In competitive industries, the smart ones will always be ready and willing to just that.

Savvy businessmen and women also understand that success is achieved by seeing the “bigger picture”. A picture not created by narrow-minded ideologies but by forward-thinking and objectivity.

The Wall is All About Business

While the estimated cost for building the wall is between $15 and $25 billion, the cost of not building the wall is much greater. From a business standpoint, America is not successful. Illegal immigration comes with a hefty price tag. The ultimate cost of which is the destabilization of our nation’s economy. And, you cannot place a numerical value on the American lives that have been and will be lost.

While the left continuously tries to make building the wall about racism and misogyny, Donald Trump is making it about the future of America. After all, businesses lock their doors at night. They have alarm systems, security, cameras, and access gates. They do not simply leave all that they have worked hard for, open and vulnerable to attack. Common sense tells us that good business for America means doing the same.
