The fact that Obama is gone and millions of Americans chose not to continue his legacy, is apparently, a fact the left refuses to acknowledge. Instead, they will use any type of tragedy to try and smear President Trump.

The picture above was tweeted by former Obama staffer, Ben Rhodes, on Wednesday. The caption deceptively read: “Obama focused on the people suffering in the crowd not the size of the crowd.” Rhodes was attempting to slam President Trump’s recent visit to hurricane ravaged Texas.

However, what Rhodes isn’t sharing is the story behind the seemingly compassionate embrace. The woman in the photograph is Donna Vanzant. Vanzant owned the North Port Marina, located on the Jersey shore. When Hurricane Sandy hit, she and her family lost everything.

Up for re-election, Obama toured the devastation with Governor Chris Christie. That is where he met Vanzant-pledging to her “immediate assistance.” What she really received was a form letter.

He promised her more than a hug.

Thankfully, Philadelphia Magazine Writer, Victor Fiorillo, made the decision to follow-up with Vanzant several months later. “President Obama comforted you and offered you “immediate” assistance. Since your encounter with him months ago, what has been your interaction with the White House?” Fiorillo asked Vanzant.

“After his visit, I sent an email to President Obama,” she answered. “Many days later, I got a response back. It was disturbing.”

Vanzant then goes on to explain why she was so upset:

“When you get a hug from the President of the United States, you feel like there’s something there. A promise was made. I have two grown kids. One is a U.S. Navy diver. The other one lives at the marina with his wife and new baby, and they lost everything. But I raised my kids to know that your word is your word. You promise something, you keep it, and that was a broken promise. I’ve never been a person to expect free handouts, but the President gave me hope. But now, I just don’t know.”

People in Texas don’t need hugs and photo-ops. And they don’t care about

They don’t care about the shoe style of the First Lady either. They need action.

Do you think President Trump will accomplish more for the people of Texas than Obama would have?
