Adam West has died at 88. The Batman star passed away surrounded by friends and family. He is most well known for playing Batman, but he also guest starred on Big Bang Theory.
Johnny Galecki paid a touching tribute on Instagram to the late superhero.

Johnny Galecki posted the above photo on Saturday saying, “RIP Adam West…Was an honor to work with you and a pleasure to get to know you some safe passage.” The photo shows West on The Big Bang Theory set surrounded by cast members including Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, and Jim Parsons.

The photo was taken while taping the 200th episode of TBBTBig Bang Theory, entitled The Celebration Experimentation. Penny throws Sheldon a surprise birthday party after hearing about how Sheldon’s sister had teased him as a child, saying Batman would come to his party. When the superhero never showed up Sheldon was traumatized. Adam West attended the party as Batman, and was invited by Leonard and the gang.
On the show West showed a great level of comedy, comparing his portrayal of Batman to other actors. He even jokes that Michael Keaton was the best Batman, except in the area of comedy. West clearly had a great head on his shoulders, and was willing to play along with the gang.

After playing Batman on television West was cast in a few other productions, and found most of his work in the voiceover industry. He even voiced the mayor of Quahog on Family Guy. After his passing, his family said, “Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives. He was and always will be our hero…”
