With President-elect Donald Trump, the heads of Tesla and Uber are taking on strategic advisory roles.

Trump officials said that as a part of his Strategic and Policy Forum, Elon Musk (read real life’s version of Tony Stark) the chief executive of Tesla, and Travis Kalanick, the chief executive of Uber, will “meet with the president frequently” and offer their expertise to Trump.

The announcement of a major meeting between tech executives and Trump came hours ahead. Along with Google, Apple, Facebook, and a handful of other companies, Musk is expected to attend. Trump will have met with senior leaders of an entire industry for the first time. Kalanick was invited, but because of travel, will not be attending.

In October 2015, Kalanick joked before an audience of college students: “Oh my god, Donald Trump’s gonna win. I’m going to move to China if Donald Trump wins.”

My how things have changed.

When both Musk and Kalanick understood that Trump is really trying to make America great again, they decided to join his mission.

In the 2016, it’s no secret that much of Silicon Valley backed Hillary Clinton, which is partly why the meeting with tech executives represents a watershed moment for an industry that could be affected powerfully by a Trump presidency.

With little more than a tweet, Trump has shown that he can…

Bill Gates Thinks Donald Trump Could Be Like JFK

Donald Trump has the chance to be like JFK during his presidency, according to Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Bill Gates. High praise coming from Gates to be sure.

On Tuesday, Gates told Fortune that he thinks Trump has the opportunity to establish “American leadership through innovation,” adding that since his candidacy, a lot of Trump’s message has been about “where he sees things not as good as he’d like.”

Gates continued:

“But in the same way President Kennedy talked about the space mission and got the country behind that,” Gates continued, “I think whether it’s education or stopping epidemics … [or] in this energy space, there can be a very upbeat message that [Trump’s] administration [is] going to organize things, get rid of regulatory barriers, and have American leadership through innovation.”

It’s been reported that Gates has spoken on the phone to the President-elect about the “power of innovation,” adding that “he’s sure” there will be more conversation on the matter in the future. He said that the conversation was the first time the two had ever spoken.

“Of course, my whole career has been along those lines [innovation],” he said. “And he was interested in listening to that.”
