The Walking Dead | Photo Credit AMC Being an actor on The Walking Dead is a very demanding job, especially for characters like Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes. The series shoots in wooded conditions, climbing fences, and in the 100-degree heat.
If you recall the episode where Aaron and Rick had to paddle to a houseboat using broken wood in a sinking ship while killing zombies, this is just another day on set of The Walking Dead. It truly is survival in the Georgia heat,
Norman Reedus who plays Daryl Dixon has had a similar experience, which has put him in the nurse’s tent or the hospital several times.
Norman Reedus Heads To Hospital

“I’ve been to the doctor so many times. I’ve had stitches across my forehead. It was funny because, that day that this happened, there was blood pouring down my face but I’m already covered in fake blood,” said Reedus.
“The ambulance comes, they take me to the hospital, give me stitches, bring me back here and one of our drivers is driving me back home,” said Reedus.
Ironically, another incident happened that same day.
Walking Dead Star Helps Injured Driver

“We leave the set, come up over the first hill and then there’s an 18-wheeler on its side in a ditch, telephone poles knocked down. It had just happened and there’s a lady in the road screaming, “Stop! I think he had a heart attack! He’s trapped behind the wheel.”
“So as the van I’m in is rolling to a stop, I jumped out, climbed up the truck, pulled the giant, sweaty driver out of the truck, laid him on the ground. The ambulance has come, and the EMT’s running towards us and he points at me, like, “Didn’t I just take you to the hospital?” And I go, “No, it’s not me, it’s him!” Maybe I was just hopped on adrenaline from the meds but it was pretty insane.”
