The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Donald Trump is facing an increasingly narrow path to victory.

At what point was it a wide path? When he faced 17 seasoned republican politicians? Or was after he won the nomination and Republican establishment turned their back on him and flashed the world their yellow underbellies?

“A Trump victory over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton likely would require a sweep of a set of battleground states where he is competitive but trailing in recent opinion polls—Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and North Carolina—and both campaigns describe them as the heart of the race. Mrs. Clinton, by contrast, could win with just one of them, partly because Democrats start with a larger number of states that historically side with them.”

Perhaps they are also counting on the undocumented democrats, and the 200,000 plus newly baptized democrats/ex-cons that just had their right to vote restored in time for the presidential election.  Thanks to Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, and longtime Clinton ally.

From The Washington Post:

“The change applies to all felons who have completed their sentences and been released from supervised probation or parole. The Democratic governor’s decision particularly affects black residents of Virginia: 1 in 4 African Americans in the state has been permanently banned from voting because of laws restricting the rights of those with convictions.”

“It just becomes very hard and difficult to understand how the Trump campaign gets to 270”  Russ Schriefer, Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign strategist told The Wall Street Journal.

Now there’s a credible source. He saw a path for a Romney win.

Everyone knows with 11 weeks until the actual Election Day races tighten. But that doesn’t stop the political junkies from calling the states that are must wins. Pennsylvania says one pundit, Florida says another.

The path to the White House isn’t just about electoral votes. It’s about the people casting their votes. It’s about the increasing distrust the of political machine that America has amassed.

The road is also fraught with miss-steps and blunders. Trump’s biggest challenge is staying away from the rabbit holes. If he can continue to resist chasing taunting rabbits, his path might be narrow, but it looks pretty clear from obstructions.

No so for Hillary. There’s a reason the campaign has kept Hillary Clinton away from press conferences. There are a lot of questions that need to be asked and answered.

With a new probe every week, she needs to dodge reporters like a post-man dodges a Rottweiler.

This “narrow path” both candidates are walking also has a bridge called October. Under that bridge lives the troll named Julian Assange, who promised us a big surprise. Who knows, maybe he found Hillary’s “Go Directly to Jail” card.
