Leftists are notorious for attacking anyone that doesn’t agree with them. But MSNBC host, Joy Reid, just crossed a line by slamming conservative Christians. Not only is she condemning them for praying she also suggests they have no understanding of God and the Bible.

In times of tragedy and triumph, Christians pray. Not as a substitute for being responsible or as a means of avoiding accountability but, to take action. Asking God for comfort in times of sorrow and giving thanks for His many blessings, teaches grace and humility.

However, Reid believes conservatives have distorted Christianity. “The far right has hijacked the concept of Christianity as if it only includes people who shun LGBT people, want to ban birth control and who follow prosperity preachers like Joel Osteen,” she tweeted.

Additionally, the AM Joy host suggests that conservatives “fetishize assault weapons and worship Donald Trump.” She goes on to call the thoughts and prayers shared for shooting victims in Texas, an “empty gesture.”

Then, Reid shares her definition of a good Christian:

“A lot of us believe in the Christianity that lifts up the poor, the sick, the widow and the orphan, not the rich, the cruel and the gun. A lot of us were raised in churches that lift up the immigrant, and we are able to view people of all faiths as our brothers and sisters. Saying we ‘don’t get religion’ is absurd.”

What the Bible Says

First, there is no such thing as “the Christianity.” Why is she speaking about spirituality as if there are versions? Cherry-picking faith to fit your political affiliations and agendas is not how it works.

Second, just because conservatives support upholding the law that doesn’t mean they don’t care about the less fortunate. But, hand-outs (welfare) never made anyone’s life better. “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth,” Proverbs 10:4.

Third, conservatives don’t oppose lifting-up legal immigrants. They are, however, against exalting criminals. “Those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow,” Romans 13:2.

Finally, and this is perhaps the most important lesson for Reid, Jesus Christ prayed. He prayed alone, with others, and for others. And He did so understanding that not every prayer, would bring the answer he was hoping for.

Judge not for you shall be judged! If you live without sin then cast the first stone.

    • SoftballUmpire

For by what manner you judge so shall you also be judged. Don’t forget the remainder of the verse or the context.

From garbage you get garbage, and she is one very big pile of garbage. (The appropriate word, slang for excrement, would have gotten this posting deleted.)
I’m guessing she wouldn’t know what was in the Bible even if she could read it. Or what one was if one hit her right between the eyes.

Pile of bovine fecal matter isn’t offensive, merely serves as a simile.

“So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go. At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight. When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold. He said to her, ‘Get up; let’s go.’ But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home.” (Judges 19:25-28)

“Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel.” (1 Peter 2:18)

How about if you actually READ the BIBLE for a change, Ms Reid? Then you might not sound like such a fool.

    • OhNoodlyOne

Best way to make atheists, I agree!

      ooh scary

  • SickoftheBS

It started out saying what you are about to read are words from a very ignorant bitch! It was the shorthand right at the beginning. MSNBC

MSNBC and CNN must go out scrounging the gutters for these people they hire. Like Rachel Maddow for another. Today while Fox and a couple other networks were covering Veterans Day festivities as well as laying the wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier MSNBC and CNN chose to spend that whole time beating to death the Roy Moore debacle.

  • Gabriel Verhage

Joy Reid is just liberal gutter trash pretending to be righteous and moral. She is neither.

  • Denice Adams

Who cares what this soulless woman says. Quit giving her an audience and she will fade away.

    • OhNoodlyOne

Yet here you are, posting on the article. Hypocrite.

  • Marcadimus

Lol, but conservatives DO pick and choose. Constantly.

    • Kathy Stutts

And you, sir/mam, are also judging. We all have our own individual lives to account for; if we do that and are blessed with enough grace to enter into God’s kingdom, it will not be because I have been sitting back watching what others are doing and judging them; it will be by what I am doing and showing others who I am. God does not judge groups; He judges individual souls. Please do some soul searching.

      • Marcadimus

So let me get this straight. Conservatives don’t pick and choose which biblical instructions to follow and observe?

        • Kathy Stutts

You should read my post once again. I can only answer for myself as God is going to judge me alone…not in a group nor audience or by anyone else’s opinions. Only my own life will I be judged accordingly.

  • Kathy Stutts

And conservative Christians…whatever that means…I believe in Christianity and do my best to follow the lessons the Bible has taught me throughout my life. I do not cherry pick races and I surely do not follow Joel Osteen. So she is wrong on most bases. To judge praying Christians and not to know their heart will be terrible judgement on herself. I can only say speak for yourself and allow all people to pray and worship; God will be my judge in the end and none other.
