Chicago Democrats have taken aim at a George Washington statue, created special ID cards for illegals and set-free a Muslim woman who killed her baby. And that’s just in the last 11 months. The 2017 murder rate, like every year, is staggeringly high. Now, they want the U.N. to clean-up their mess.
Last week, Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin met with U.N. officials in New York City to ask for their support. Calling the violence in Chicago a “quiet genocide,” in black communities, he appealed to the assistant secretary general for peacekeeping. However, the UN patrolling American streets is not a solution.
To see where the real problem lies, look no further than Chi-town Mayor Rahm Emanuel. The former Obama chief of staff happily turned Chicago into a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants and refugees. Yet he continued to ignore the growing gang violence and the black-on-black crime ravaging his city.
Although the mayor might have more time to address the problem if he wasn’t so busy trash-talking President Trump on television. Speaking to equally offensive late-night host Stephen Colbert, Emanuel again declared his city a “Trump-free zone.”
“We don’t want him,” he told Colbert. “Donald Trump is driving forward looking through the rearview mirror, and I’m not going that way, I think what he’s doing is wrong for the direction of the city.” Emanuel added that Chicago is a city that President Trump will “never sleep in.”
Emanuel is Lost
To put the mayor’s “direction” into perspective, here are a few statistics. Chicago is the only major city to lose population two years in a row. More than 11,000 residents fled the city in 2015 and nearly 20,000 left in 2016.
Every two and half hours, someone was shot.
Looking at education, the numbers are substantially worse. For the 2016-2017 school year, only 26% of students tested ready to move-on to the next grade level. Only 18% of eighth graders are passing Algebra. It seems Emanuel’s schools aren’t just “Trump-free,” they’re education free too.
While addressing the graduating class at the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia on Friday, President Trump spoke about the city’s problems. “What the hell is going on in Chicago?” he asked. “What the hell is happening there?”
Raise your hand if you know the answer to that question.
