“Out of an abundance of caution and to avoid the appearance of using my official role to promote the book, I will not publicize the book through a promotional tour or media appearances,” she said in a Facebook post.

As Ivanka noted, she wrote the book before her father was elected as president at a time she called “very different” from where she is now. Her perspective then, was as an entrepreneur and business executive. Now she views life through a political lens-and she wants to be certain that she is abiding by the rules of politics.

Even better, is the fact that she will not be keeping any of the proceeds from the sale of her book. The remainder of her advance, $425,000, and any royalties will go to several charities that aid women and children in various capacities. The funds will be administered by her newly established…

Two charitable donations have already been decided. The Boys & Girls Club of America will receive $100,000. The money will primarily be used to fund the STEM program that encourages girls to explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Another $100,00 will go to the National Urban League.

Ivanka has been very passionate in her efforts to empower women and girls across the globe, and she hopes her new book will be another powerful tool to help her achieve that goal. She acknowledged in her post that she “is more fotunate than most”-and she hopes to help other women and girls achieve success.

“Empowering women has been central to my mission throughout my career, and with my book, ‘Women Who Work,’ I hope to do just that. The book equips readers with the best advice, tips and skills I’ve learned over the years from many incredible people, on subjects including identifying opportunities, leading teams, starting companies, managing work and family, and building cultures where multidimensional women can thrive — now and in the future,”
