In recent news Kaepernick, quarterback of the San Franciso 49’ers was slammed for his blatant disrespect against the United States of America when he didn’t rise during the pledge of allegiance.
It’s sad because he’s in full disrespect of the country that has given him one of the greatest opportunities of a lifetime. Donald Trump had his own viewpoint on the matter, which you can read further down the post and it was great!
Well, his decision to stand could get him thrown out of the NFL. Which is fine by most American’s considering the sport is an American sport. Below are Kaepernicks own words as to why he refused the pledge.
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
Trump was not the only one to have something to say. An Army Ranger, enlisted serviceman for the country replied with the following:
“I understand Kaepernick’s intention, however I disagree with his means. His NBA counterparts protested the same ideas in a way that neither hurt the country, nor ignored the ideals that people of color have fought and died which; ideals represented by the symbolism of the American Flag and words of the National Anthem.
Many American’s where horrified to see the refusal performed by Kaepernick to support this country. American’s considered this a tragedy and it’s most likely only the beginning of more situations like this to come in the not so distant future.
The shining moment for many, was when Trump got involved and voiced his opinion. As expected, Trump didn’t hold back, he spoke his mind as usual and the following is what he said:
“I have followed it and I think it’s personally not a good thing. I think it’s a terrible thing, and you know, maybe he should find a country that works better for him, let him try, it’s not gonna happen.”
As for Kaepernick, he’s stated that he will continue to sit when the Anthom is played, declaring that blacks are still being oppressed the United States and until it changes, neither will his stance.
As usual, we would love to hear your viewpoint on Kaepernick’s actions and how you think the NFL shoud handle the situation. Should he be allowed to continue to play in the NFL or should he be banned from the sport entirely. Like and Share then voice your opinion below.
