loretta lynn

Country music legend Loretta Lynn needs your prayers and support. She’s postponed some of her shows because she’s fallen and suffered injuries.

On doctors orders, she is not allowed to travel, so she’s setting aside parts of her tour in order to make a better recovery. She wanted to perform a show in her hometown of Hurricane Mills, Tennessee over the Labor Day weekend, but the 84-year-old singer wasn’t able to.

Doctors said she needs surgery to help restore her injuries. Her injuries are “not serious,” according to a statement on her website. Lynn has over a dozen more shows still scheduled, but we’ll see what happens with her recovery.

She’s helped pave the way for women in country music as one of the first female country singers.

“To make it in this business, you either have to be first, great or different,” she says on her website. “And I was the first to ever go into Nashville, singin’ it like the women lived it.”

“Everybody in my family sang,” she continues. “So I really didn’t understand until I left Butcher Holler that there were some people who couldn’t. And it was kind of a shock.”

The impact this woman has had on the country music world is incomparable. And the country music world has acknowledged this, giving her four Grammys, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and many other praises — she’s one of the most awarded musicians of all time, and not just in country music!

Suffice it to say, we hope the best for Lynn and pray she has a quick and painless recovery.

Let’s not forget about her big hit, “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”
