Rick Grimes is surprised to find Baby Gracie amongst the Saviors. Likely, it reminds him of his daughter, Judith. After the outpost battle, he walks out with the child in his hands.
Knowing he has a stop to make, he looks for someone to care for the child. Surprisingly, Aaron arrived and said, “She can go with me. I could take her to the Hilltop. She’ll be safe there.”
Rick is reluctant to give Baby Gracie to the grieving man.
Aaron Wants To Deliver Baby Gracie
“Eric and I were going to go up… We were going to go there after and update Maggie, so that’s what I’m going to do,” said Aaron, tears in his eyes. “Please,” he said. “I have to,” as if it were Eric’s last wish.
Essentially, Aaron is looking for a task or purpose, that will take his mind off of his grief. Only moments before, Eric passed away and reanimated as a walker.
But, what will Aaron do with Baby Gracie after he visits Hilltop?
Will Aaron Raise Baby Gracie?
It’s possible that Aaron will simply find someone else to care for Baby Gracie, but perhaps he will care for her. We know that Aaron enters a dark place, but this representation of hope can help him.
Aaron may want to adopt this little girl and raise her as one of his own.
Regardless, when the newborn gets to Hilltop, she’ll likely be raised by the community. With Lori gone, everyone helps out when it comes to Baby Judith, especially since Rick Grimes is often off fighting.
Baby Gracie will likely represent hope at Hilltop, and soon, we’ll also have Baby Rhee there crawling around. The various communities are going to have to figure out the best way to raise these children in this cruel world.
Do you think there’s a chance Aaron could raise the little girl?
