Scott Gimple Talks Dead, Season 8
On October, fans are awaiting the 100th episode of The Walking Dead and the cast and crew are promising non-stop action. Based on the comics, we’ll be seeing All Out War when the show hits AMC.
“I really wanted to push into different ways than we’ve done things in a long time, just by virtue of we’re a show going into its eighth year and I really don’t want to do what we’ve done before, even if we’ve done it really well,” said Gimple.
“If we’re super satisfied with it, that’s why we shouldn’t do the same thing. And because of that and really mostly because of the narrative itself, I had us embrace a really action-heavy story for several episodes in a row.”
Rick’s Tragic Seventh Season
This, of course, is drastically different than last season, while Rick Grimes was basically forced to live under Negan’s thumb. This was both tragic for the audience to watch as well as it was for Andrew Lincoln to portray.
We did see lots of new characters last season, which includes Oceanside, the majority of the Saviors, the Kingdom, and the rest of Hilltop. We also met the Heapsters, which may turn out to be one of the more interesting groups.
Some believe they’ll actually turn out to be the Whisperers.
Robert Kirkman On Upcoming Season
Robert Kirkman added:
“We’ve got all these different factions, all these different locations – the Hilltop, the Sanctuary – and getting all these people together and continuing to expand the scale in a cool way, but really using all these pieces to their fullest,” Kirkman said.
“We’ve spent a lot of time setting these characters up, and now we’re going to bash them against each other and see what happens. … This is another continuation of that; this is a very fresh take on the world of The Walking Dead, and we’re going to be breaking a lot of new ground this season.”
