In addition to these two newcomers, The Walking Dead’s Scott M. Gimple will also play a part in Season 4 as he signs on to become the executive producer of the zombie-inspired series.

Hopefully, Gimple can help the show continue to grow.

“We’re very excited to continue the journey of Fear The Walking Dead, and truly look forward to working with the talented team of Andrew Chambliss, Ian Goldberg, and Scott Gimple,” said Joel Stillerman, who is the president of original programming for both AMC and SundanceTV.

Chambliss and Goldberg also sent out a release:

“We are thrilled to be joining Fear The Walking Dead and couldn’t be more excited to work alongside the wonderful team at AMC on this show. We love this universe and are truly honored to have the chance to contribute to it.”

Despite having a ratings decline, Fear The Walking Dead remains the second highest rated original scripted show behind The Walking Dead.

In June, Season 3 of Fear The Walking Dead will premiere on AMC. The network reports, “The families will be brought together in the vibrant and violent ecotone of the U.S.-Mexico border. International lines done away with following the world’s end, the character must attempt to rebuild not only society but family as well.”

Despite the similarities to The Walking Dead, the show stands on its own and should not be considered a prequel. However, Fear The Walking Dead does have the possibility of interweaving past characters from The Walking Dead.

Fear The Walking Dead returns on Sunday, June 4, at 9pm on AMC.
