Look What Rick Grimes Really Sees Through The Rifle Scope…

“Snipers, report in. This is Rick Grimes. Does anybody copy?” asked our hero over the walkie-talkie. In the latest episode of The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes breaks free, but discovers that there’s been a kink in his plan.

When no one answers, he decides to take a rifle and climb to the top of the water tower. Earlier in the episode, we know that Morgan was communicating with another sniper at the tower.

Now, the sniper has been killed and Rick Grimes doesn’t like what he sees through the scope when looking at the Sanctuary.

As the episode faded out, fans were wondering what exactly Rick was looking at. Mainly, he just realized that the walkers were no longer surrounding the outside of the Sanctuary. There are two reasons this would concern our hero.

First, it means that the Saviors have escaped. If that is the case, then Alexandria could be in major trouble. Second, he may have noticed that a truck had been driven into the side of the building. This could mean that he will go after Daryl Dixon when he makes it to Alexandria.

But, if you look a little closer, you’ll notice the real problem.

In addition to there not being any walkers surrounding the area, there is also a clear path from the front gate. Surrounding the entrance and the garbage truck, there are dozens and dozens of dead walkers and rubble.

One way or another, it looks like Eugene’s plan worked out for Negan. In front of the entrance, there is a clear path and a burned down trailer. The trailer, which is where Father Gabriel initially had been with Negan, has been burned except for the frame.

Therefore, it looks like the Saviors are no longer in the Sanctuary. In one way or another, we’ve experienced another short time gap between Daryl Dixon’s attack and Rick Grimes leading the Scavengers to the Sanctuary.

In the finale, we’ll likely see Rick bringing his new army to the Sanctuary first, in order to protect Carl Grimes and Michonne. But, it may be too late.

Did you notice anything else when Rick Grimes looked through the scope?
