For the past few months, there have been rumors around Maggie Rhee actress Lauren Cohan not returning for Season 9 of The Walking Dead. Despite a series of issues around her original contract, the actress has confirmed that she will return for the post-war season. This could also confirm a civil war on the series.
“I’m going back,” said Lauren Cohan to Entertainment Weekly. “There’s a lot more Maggie story to tell.” After Cohan’s contract ended for Season 8, the actress asked for more money. She didn’t want the same amount as Andrew Lincoln or Norman Reedus but the increase did stall things until this week.
In addition to the delay, she did also film a movie with Mark Wahlberg and a TV pilot for ABC about CIA agents called Whiskey Cavalier. It’s unclear if the series will get picked up but it’s also been listed as a TV Movie, so it could be a limited series. Either way, fans are looking forward to seeing Maggie’s journey next season.
