Danai Gurira Arrives, Katana In Hand
Danai Gurira character Michonne appeared on The Walking Dead as a force to be reckoned with. The character, a loner with a katana sword and two pet walkers, was unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.
In the recent seasons, it’s easy to forget just how badass Michonne was before. She was out there alone. She had figured out a way to move amongst the walkers without being detected.
Now, she’s in love with Rick Grimes.
“That Stunning Dynamic Of The World”
Danai Gurira recalls, “I was thinking about stepping into this amazing piece of work in season three. It was about learning from those who had created and built this family. Andrew Lincoln, who has helmed this ship for 100 episodes.”
“Lennie James in that first episode, as well, where I was totally gripped by how they created that stunning dynamic of this world,” she added. Then, “I followed the lead of watching two seasons worth of how these people had built this very powerful human story.”
Without the human characters, it’s true that The Walking Dead would not be such the global phenomenon that it has become.
Michonne Fights For Her Life…
As for Michonne, many fans were worried that she was going to die in the season finale. Before Shiva the Tiger arrived and killed a few Saviors, it looked like Rick was about to lose his son and his woman in an instant.
Then, Negan was all-ready to kill Carl Grimes with Lucille when we heard a scream in the distance. Rick turned, and it was unclear who fell, but it looked like Michonne fell off the roof of a local building.
Despite the fact that Rick thought he was about to lose it all, he promised Negan that he was going to kill him. For the first time, it also looked like Negan was starting to believe Rick Grimes.
Luckily, Shiva and the posse arrived to break up the Saviors’ advantage, and Michonne managed to fight off the Heapster and save herself.
